The Plymouth Athenaeum’s ‘Future Challenges Series’ continues with a talk on the Plastic Free Plymouth campaign.
Plymouth was awarded Plastic Free Community status earlier this year in recognition of the work of partners across the city to reduce single use plastics and plastic pollution.
The award came on the anniversary of Plymouth achieving Plastic Free Communities status for its waterfront, and the launch of the city’s ‘Plan for Plastics’.
Jackie Young, Environment Plymouth’s co-ordinator, will be providing this talk on the Plastic Free Plymouth campaign.
Environment Plymouth provides a strategic voice for local environmental and sustainability concerns.
The Plymouth Athenaeum is partnering with organisations including The Royal Society for the Arts, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Energy Community, Fotonow, Art & Energy and Environment Plymouth to create a series of talks focusing on local, national and global challenges.
The series kicked off last month with Athenaeum CEO, Owen Ryles, presenting ‘Facing the Future: The challenges for Membership Societies in the 21st Century’.
Entry to the Future Challenges Series talks is free and open to the public.
