The Plymouth Athenaeum’s ‘Future Challenges Series’ continues with a talk on Youth climate action in Plymouth on Tuesday, 5th November (2.30pm).
The talk will be given by James Ellwood, Company Director, Responsible for Film at Fotonow CIC.
Fotonow and Plymouth Energy Community have been developing a youth project responding to the climate crisis and supporting young people to take positive social action on this issue.
Fotonow is a Plymouth-based media social enterprise, specialising in community focused photographic and film projects.
They believe in the power of creative media to enable people’s voices to be heard. Fotonow are passionate about nurturing ambition, growing confidence and empowering both individuals and communities through media and education.
Fotonow bring together expertise in education, community development and media production to develop and run creative projects that make a difference to people’s lives.
Fotonow have been based in Plymouth since 2010, and work across the South West on a wide array of projects.
The Plymouth Athenaeum is partnering with organisations including The Royal Society for the Arts, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Energy Community, Fotonow, Art & Energy and Environment Plymouth to create a series of talks focusing on local, national and global challenges.
The series kicked off in September with Athenaeum CEO, Owen Ryles, presenting ‘Facing the Future: The challenges for Membership Societies in the 21st Century’. It was followed by a talk from Jackie Young, of Environment Plymouth, on the Plastic Free Plymouth campaign. The third talk focused on ‘Plymouth Sound: The UK’s first Marine National Park’.
