‘Emotional intelligence: the light and the dark’

The Plymouth Athenaeum’s 2019 Winter Lecture series continues with Dr Alison Bacon’s talk on ‘Emotional intelligence: the light and the dark’ on Thursday, February 21 (2.30pm).

Wars and prejudice dominate the news. Can we discover a way to help people better understand each other and live with their differences? What if we all learnt to be more ‘emotionally intelligent’?

Dr Bacon, who lectures in Psychology at the University of Plymouth, is an academic psychologist with research interests in individual differences, particularly personality and the impact this has on our daily lives.

One of her main interests is in understanding how people use emotionally intelligent abilities in both pro-social and anti-social ways.

Lectures are free and open to the public.
